Believe it or not, I can find the best gaming laptop under 600 as well. Now, you cannot expect an RTX 2080 in this budget, but what you are getting is still going to be more than enough in terms of the overall performance and the value for money. This is the price category where you are likely to find so many laptops that surprisingly deliver the performance none of us has expected from them, and that is a great thing, to be honest. If you are truly looking for some hidden gems, this is what you need to look at.
Best Gaming Laptop Under 600 – Comparison Chart
Best Gaming Laptop Under 600
Now the list of the best gaming laptops is not going to belong, and that is done on purpose. I want to give our readers a choice, but at the same time, I don’t want to cause any confusion in the way, and that is why I am keeping things simple and to the point.
#1- Acer Swift 3 Thin & Light Laptop
Acer, as a company, has delivered some pretty amazing laptops for what I have experienced so far. Their Predator, Helios, and Nitro line of laptops are impressive, to say the least. One can almost be convinced that Acer is only known for making higher-end laptops, however, that is not true.
Octa-core Ryzen 7 4700U processor. Integrated Radeon graphics. 14” full HD IPS display. Just 0.63” thin. 8GB LPDDR4 RAM with 512 NVMe SSD.
Fantastic performance. Looks great. Easy to carry.
The trackpad is a hit and miss. Battery life suffers.
The Acer Swift 3 Thin & Light Laptop is exactly on the other end of the spectrum as far as the gaming laptops I have seen from the company in the past, and there is nothing wrong with it as I am always on the lookout to see something that defies expectations, and this laptop does so with grace. Now for starters, there is a lot of good stuff about this laptop. For the price you are paying, this is one of the fastest laptops that I have tested. The Ryzen CPU is the laptop shines, and the best part is that it is not even going to cost you a lot of money. Another great thing is that the laptop itself is pretty thin and light. Now I know this is something that is already mentioned in the name of the laptop, but many companies do that just for the sake of it, while never really delivering what they promised. One surprising fact here is that the Acer Swift 3 does not ship with a dedicated GPU at all. However, it still manages to run most games at HD resolution, even going as high as full HD on an integrated GPU. I don’t expect anyone to reach as high as competitive levels of gaming, but if you do want a respectable experience, this is something that will let you have that. I just wish the trackpad was good, and the battery life could have caught up, but that is forgiven here.
#2- ASUS F512DA-EB51 VivoBook
Now we are all familiar with just how good Asus laptops are, and there is no way to overlook that. I have reviewed numerous laptops from Asus, and almost all of them have delivered fantastic performance through and through, but this time around, I are talking about something affordable. Honestly, the Acer Swift 3 Thin & Light Laptop is the laptop that is going to defy the expectations thanks to how good it performs and how affordable it is. There are not any performance issues that I have experienced here.
15.6” FHD display. Quad-core Ryzen 5 3500U. 8GB DDR4 RAM and 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Radeon Vega 8 graphics card. ErgoLift design for improved typing position.
Fantastic performance for the price. Thin and light and thermally cool. Great trackpad and keyboard. Affordable.
The display could have been better.
The ASUS F512DA-EB51 VivoBook is something that can easily fly under the radar as a laptop that cannot do much aside from productivity tasks, but you would be wrong to even assume that as the laptop is known for delivering some light gaming performance, as well. For starters, the VivoBook I have on here is built like a tank, which is ironic because of how thin and light it looks. The modern and attractive design is surely going to get some attention as well. Asus has crammed this impressive hardware in a very small chassis. Now moving to the gaming and productivity part, that is where things get surprising. For starters, the productivity side of this laptop is already pretty impressive, but with the dedicated GPU, you can even do some light gaming if you wish to, and it will be just fine. The keyboard and the touchpad add to the overall experience as well, since they are pretty impressive, for the price you are paying. My only gripe here is that the display could have been better as far as the colors are concerned, but since the price is so low, I can overlook that.
#3- Asus TUF FX504 Gaming Laptop
How can a list of gaming laptops be complete without having Asus included in it? Asus laptops have earned a lot of accolades in the market and for all the right reasons. These laptops are known for delivering fantastic performance if you want to pay for it or the value for money, as well. I have to say that the ASUS F512DA-EB51 VivoBook is something that might be a bit strange for a lot of people, but the good news is that if you are looking for a good laptop that is not going to break the bank, this one is a good option. The performance is on par with the price you are paying, and everything else just fits right in. You really cannot get a better deal at the price you are paying.
Intel Core i5 8300H processor. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050. 8GB DDR4 RAM with 256GB M.2 SSD. 15.6” full HD display. Backlit Keyboard
The keyboard along with the entire chassis is pretty durable. RAM and storage can be accessed easily. The gaming performance is relatively good.
The screen could have been better.
The Asus TUF FX504GD-ES51 does have a mouthful as a name, but once you do get into the whole using it partly, you start understanding why it makes so much sense and why it belongs to this list. There are no compromises on this laptop, and I know it is a bold statement, but that is how it works. For starters, the laptop is fairly durable, and the keyboard is pretty great. Speaking of durability, if Asus doesn’t satisfy you, there’s the TUF branding as well, and we all know how good TUF laptops are, to begin with. Asus is also kind enough to make this laptop an easy to upgrade affair as you are not getting a lot of issues coming in the way of letting you upgrade the RAM or storage. The gaming laptop provides pretty decent performance, too. My only complaint is that you are not getting a good screen, but then again, for the price you are paying, I doubt you can find a complaining argument.
#4- Acer Aspire 5
Acer has a long list of good laptops that you can just go ahead and buy, and the best part is that you are not always going to have to spend a lot of money in the process. You can simply buy something that fits your budget and be done with it. For the price you are paying, the Asus TUF FX504GD-ES51 is getting the job done. I can tell you that you will not be getting a better deal and it will be right, as well. True, there are a lot of laptops in the same category, but for the price, this one delivers great performance. You will not be running into any issues, as well. Whether you are typing away on the keyboard or playing games, the laptop manages to deliver and does a great job at that, as well. You can even access the RAM and storage for easy upgradability if you want.
10th generation Intel Core i5 10210u. 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. 15.6” full HD IPS display. Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics card
Delivers great performance for the value. Very affordable. Storage and RAM can be easily upgraded. Does not look out of this world and strange.
The display is on the dimmer side.
The Aspire lineup buy Acer is always great when it comes to delivering good performance, and for anyone who is looking at a good laptop for an affordable price, the Acer Aspire 5 is something that should be of your interest. Thankfully, at the price you are paying for this laptop, I cannot think of a better option available. Granted, the specs are minimal at best, and you might not be able to run all the AAA titles, but you also have to understand that this laptop is built for those who want to casually game and type away. You are not supposed to be playing games that require a lot of horsepowers in the first place, and that is all fine. Just be sure that the laptop you are getting is a good choice for you, so you do not have to stress over anything that could potentially come in the way. Now my only concern here is a dim screen but other than that, for what its worth, I really cannot complain about the Acer Aspire 5 in any way. In my opinion, it is one of the better options available for the budget.
#5- ASUS TUF FX505DT Gaming Laptop
If you are surprised to see this laptop on the list, don’t be as it is one of the finest laptops available in the market that, for some reason, is cheap but manages to deliver performance that blows everything out of the competition when you are looking at the same price. For anyone who wants to get their hands on a good laptop that is not going to cost a lot of money, the Acer Aspire is the one that you should be going for. It is not going to cost you a lot of money, and you can expect decent performance out of it, as well. Just don’t play any AAA games on it as it is only going to make matters worse for the laptop.
AMD Ryzen 5 3550H processor. Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card. 15.6” full HD, 120Hz display. 8GB DDR4 RAM with 256GB NVMe SSD. Backlit Keyboard
The pricing is competitive. You are getting great performance for the price. The laptop has really good speakers. You are not going to run into any thermal issues.
The display is average at best in terms of brightness. The battery life is not so good.
With that said, the ASUS TUF FX505DT is the laptop that we are looking at, and you have to understand that this is not the first time I have included this laptop in my list as I have seen this several times in the past, as well, and for all the right reasons. With this laptop, you are getting great value for your money, the laptop can be serviced and upgraded with ease, and you are getting extra storage bays as well. Not just that, there is also the 120Hz refresh rate display that you are going to get, which looks phenomenal. If you are looking for something that sounds good, then this laptop is something that will deliver on that price, and you are also getting a laptop that runs thermally cool, as well. Which will allow you to have the best possible experience. With a lot of good things to go for this laptop, there are a few things that I didn’t like. For starters, the display is not as bright, and the below-average battery life might not be for everyone.
#6- Acer Aspire 5 (A515-55T-53AP)
We are finally at the closing end of the list, and the laptop that we are looking at is again from Acer. The thing with Acer and budget laptops is that both of these go well together. For anyone who wants to get some performance out of their laptops, you should go ahead with it, so you don’t have to worry. The ASUS TUF FX505DT is a laptop that you should be getting. It is delivering top of the line performance, and for the price you are paying, you cannot go wrong here, and you will be able to get a great gaming experience as well. The star of the show is, of course, the 120Hz refresh rate display that is well complemented by the GTX 1650, and together, they give impressive performance through and through.
Intel Core i5 1035G1 processor. 15.6” HD touch display. Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 6. Up to 8 hours of battery life. RAM 8GB DDR4, 256GB NVMe SSD Backlit Keyboard
The battery life is pretty good. The processor works efficiently without any slowdowns. The laptop does not feel heavy or out of place.
The body is made entirely out of plastic. The keyboard can get uncomfortable while typing. The screen isn’t as color accurate.
The good thing about the Acer Aspire 5 A515-55T-53AP is that it is one of the most affordable laptops available for you to buy, and for the price you are paying, you get your money’s worth. There are a lot of good things about the laptop, to be honest. The battery life being one of the best things, since this laptop can last up to 8 hours in total, and the processor complements that by being efficient, one of the more efficient ones in power consumption. The overall weight and feel of the laptop are good too, the lightweight chassis works well, and the laptop is not too big to carry around, which allows for a better experience overall. Sadly, there are a few downsides here. For starters, the body is made almost entirely out of plastic, and the keyboard is not the most comfortable when it comes to typing. You are also getting a display that is not that color accurate.

I can assure you that you will not have any issues whatsoever in buying this laptop for a good performance because it just works well. That is why I have this buying guide that is going to help you here. Suggested Reading:

CPU, GPU & Ram
When buying a laptop, you have to be concerned with every single aspect such as the CPU, GPU, and RAM because one wrong move and you might end up with your hands on something that is not even good and can only cause you more problems in the way. The $600 mark is not an easy one when you are talking about buying a laptop and therefore, can create some issues for a lot of people that might become a thing. You can look at what options are available at your end, and you would be all good. Now, you should be getting a quad-core CPU at that price, and some of them even come with a higher-end chip, so that option is always there. As far as the RAM is concerned, you should not be settling with anything less than 8GB. Last but not the least, the GPU is either going to be an integrated one or some lower-end option that is capable of running games at lower resolutions.
Storage & Battery Life
The thing with budget laptops is that you are often left with average storage. But the battery life, in general, is going to be great to a point that you will not have to worry much, to begin with. Still, it is up to us to let the viewers know. Now talking about the storage, most laptops in this price range ship with either 512GB SSD or a 1TB HDD. However, what is important to know here that in every case here, storage is the one factor that can easily be upgraded, and you will not have any issues. As far as the RAM is concerned, you should have at least 8 gigs of RAM even if you are doing just productive tasks because anything less than that and you will have some severe performance issues on your hands, and it is not something I would suggest you go ahead with.
Screen Size & Ports
The thing about 600 price tag is that you are not going to get a lot of choices there. It is not an overly generous price bracket, and that is one thing that is important to know. This means that the screen size and ports are going to be limited. Most of the laptops that I have reviewed come with 15.6” full HD screen, which has become the norm for budget laptops in this category. But some even come equipped with a 14” screen, so you have something to look forward to. As far as the port selection is concerned, you do get access to all the basic ports, but if you are looking for something top of the line, you might not get those ports. I am talking multiple or even a single ethernet port. So, be wary of this because it is an important thing that you should be considering.
Keyboard & Touchpad
I have to tell you that these things are normally overlooked by a lot of people when you are buying a new gaming laptop or a laptop in general, but if you are looking forward to some good performance, this is the way to go. A laptop’s keyboard should be comfortable enough for you to type on because, without that, you are not getting much in the first place. Additionally, you also need to get a good trackpad or touchpad if you are looking to have an error-free gliding and overall usage. Budget laptops usually cheap out on both of these features, which means that finding a good laptop that has both of these, is going to be a bit hard, but you should not have any issues if you look carefully and read the reviews.
Gaming Performance
Normally, I could leave this factor in because most of the laptops that I have reviewed in the past were gaming laptops first, and then anything else. The same cannot be said for this list since these are your all-rounders that will deliver good performance but not as good as you may have expected it to. Ideally, the goal is to play games at 60 frames per second, but that is not always the case because, in most situations, you are limited to less than that on these laptops. Yes, there are a few laptops that deliver the performance higher than usual, but those are few. For the large part, the performance you are going to get is going to be average at being at best, and we cannot hold that against the laptops because they are not designed specifically for that purpose. For anyone who is looking for casual gaming performance, these laptops are going to be more than enough. However, the same cannot be said for anyone who wants to play AAA games on the highest possible settings simply because the laptops might not be able to deliver the performance that you are looking for, and that is just how the reality is in this case.
Design & Better Thermals
A good laptop is not just going to perform good, but it is also going to be looking good while doing that. This is at least me, and countless others believe when you are talking about laptops. This does not just extend to your gaming laptops but also all the other laptops that are available in the market. When buying a laptop, make sure that it looks as good as you want it to look just so you can have the experience you are looking for. That way, it will be a lot better for you, and you will be able to get the performance that you want to get. Additionally, if you want to make a responsible purchase, you also have to go with a laptop that is better when it comes to dissipating heat. You do not want to get your hands on a laptop that runs hot even when you are not doing intensive tasks. Thankfully, modern-day laptops have efficient chips and good thermal designs, which will ensure that no problems are coming in the way.
What You Can Expect From A $600 Gaming Laptop?
I will be honest here, the $600 mark is a very tough one for a lot of laptops because this is the price range for more affordable laptops that you can find for work and home use. However, you would be surprised by what you can get your hands on in this budget as I was, too. For starters, if you want to play games, you can easily do Rocket Leagues on almost all of these laptops, but some of them are even capable of running higher end games, but at reduced quality in general, which is acceptable as long as you are getting a good gaming experience Honestly, the performance these laptops can manage is impressive, to say the least, and if you want to play games without a hitch and you are not concerned with how many frames you are getting, it’s good to have that.
Why Do Brands Matter?
Honestly, I have been using laptops for as long as I can remember, and the brands never really had a major impact on anything as far as the overall experience is concerned. However, in most cases, it can all boil down to personal preferences, and not just that. With that said, brands do not always matter, but if you like a certain brand’s approach to handling things, that is something that is going to matter in this situation, and that is what you will have to take care of, as well. Just be sure that you are making the right purchase and you are well informed about everything that the laptop is bringing to the table, so you do not make the wrong purchase. If you are looking at good laptops, you can easily go through this list and find what you are looking for. We have the best options available in the given price tag, and it does not get better than that. Just be sure that you know what laptop you want and what you are you trying to do with the laptop, and everything will work just as intended. I understand how overwhelming it can be to purchase a gaming laptop or anything, for that matter, at a budget, but that is why I have this round-up and buying guide the in place. So, you do not have any problems.

Although the games that are not RAM intensive are going to run fine without zero issues that could come in the way. The same cannot be said about higher-end games, and I would advise you to upgrade the RAM.
